Under certain rare circumstances in HP Tru64 UNIX v5.1B-4, a
failed disk I/O can be returned to the caller with success status.
The erroneous return occurs only when all three of the following
circumstances take place:
- The I/O is a disk write, and
- The I/O is being retried within the bad block
replacement code, and
- The I/O was returned from storage with a HARDWARE ERROR
(4h) sense key
The Early Release Patch (ERP) announced in this
document resolves this potential handling error. HP strongly
recommends that all customers running HP Tru64 UNIX v5.1B-4
and TruCluster Server v5.1B-4 install this ERP. |
